Accommodation
All of the accommodation is designed to offer total comfort and be a relaxing home from home during your time on the Nile. Oberoi Zahra and MS Mayfair both offer a mix of cabins and suites. The former provides picture windows in the cabins and private terraces for those who opt for a suite upgrade and the latter features either Juliette balconies or a full step-out balcony. Sonesta Star Goddess is an all-suite ship on which everyone has access to their own private terrace and anything from 40 to 52 square metres of space.
Sonesta Star Goddess and MS Mayfair all offer full-size bathtubs in the cabins. Standard amenities on all vessels include flat screen TVs, hairdryers, mini-bar, internet access and air-conditioning. The executive cabins on board MS Mayfair also provide guests with slippers and bathrobes, whilst the suites on board Oberoi Zahra beckon you to relax in their Jacuzzis.
Dining
With a range of local and more international dishes on offer, breakfast and lunches are usually served as a buffet with full sit-down meals in the evening. Guests choosing to sail on board MS Mayfair can also look forward to afternoon tea on the sun deck.
All cruises are sold on a full board basis, but drinks are not included in this. Instead, there is the option to add a drinks package that includes locally produced mineral water, soft drinks, juices, tea, coffee, red and white wine, beer and spirits. The price of these packages will vary depending on the ship.
Facilities
In addition to the main dining room, all three ships feature a comfortable lounge with a bar attached and a sun deck where you can take advantage of the fantastic weather. Oberoi Zahra and MS Mayfair also have a swimming pool in which you can cool off, whilst Sonesta Star Goddess and Oberoi Zahra have spa and fitness facilities for you to either unwind or get the pulse racing. Wi-Fi is available on all three ships but is only free on board MS Mayfair.
Excursions
Each itinerary includes around 10 different excursions that are offered as part of the cruise fair. These are designed to take you to some of the infamous places in this part of the world such as the Valley of the Kings and the Karnak Temple. Your onboard Egyptologist will be able to answer any questions you have and help you understand the history behind some of the ancient sites you will see along the way. Highlights on various cruises will include gazing in awe at the four enormous statues of Rameses II at Abu Simbel and visiting the temple of Kom Ombo.
