Your Chance To Sail On Board The First Modern Riverboat In The US

6th November 2018

American river cruises offer the chance to immerse yourself in the history and culture of one of the world’s greatest countries. From Civil War history to southern cuisine and jazz music, a sailing along the Mississippi is a great alternative to a European river cruise and the perfect way to visit some of the country’s most famous cities in one trip.

Up until recently, all of the Snake, Columbia, Ohio and Mississippi river cruises were operated by authentic paddle steamers that have been lovingly restored in order to offer a mix of nostalgia and contemporary comforts. However, with the launch of American Song, American Cruise Lines is proud to operate the first-ever modern riverboat sailing on US waterways.

American Song Atrium

Having recently completed her inaugural trip along the Mississippi (from New Orleans to Memphis), American Song is ready to wow you with modern interiors, elegant design and innovative engineering. Breaking the mould in this part of the world, she resembles the kind of ship you will be used to if you’ve ever sailed through Europe. Her cabins are larger than any others on these waterways, three-times as much glass as usual has been used intelligently to allow light to flood in and let guests enjoy the wonderful views, and a unique bow has been implemented which opens up to reveal a retractable gangway.

American Song Lounge

Throughout the rest of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, American Song will continue to offer eight-day Mississippi River cruises. That is until the exciting launch of American Cruise Lines’ second modern riverboat, American Harmony. At this time, American Song will be switched to the north-west to glide along the Snake and Columbia Rivers.

American Song Veranda Suite

As well as spacious cabins and a beautiful four-deck atrium, you’ll be able to enjoy all the other added extras should you choose to climb aboard this brilliant new ship. A complimentary cocktail hour takes place before dinner every day, giving you the chance to catch up with other guests and start the evening in a relaxed mood. Meals are all waiter-served and free-flowing wine and beer are available whilst you’re eating. There will also be Wi-Fi and a shore excursion per day included in your original fare.
