Float Through France With Uniworld
When embarking on a French river cruise, it can be difficult to decide which region you want to visit. Do you choose to follow your taste buds and take a wonderful wine tour through the vineyards and chateaux of Bordeaux? Do you opt to sail along the Seine from Normandy’s historic beaches into the heart of Paris? Or do you head south on the Rhone to enjoy the warm weather and fantastic cities such as Lyon and Marseille?
A Superb Solution
Well, the good news is that you will no longer have to make that decision, as there is now the option to sail through all three regions on one river cruise with Uniworld. The 22-day ‘Ultimate France’ itinerary starts off in Paris, ends in Avignon and involves a high-speed TGV journey and internal flight to help you navigate between the three different areas. You will traverse six different waterways in total, stay aboard three different ships and visit sixteen different destinations during this mammoth adventure, with a range of included excursions offered as part of the cruise fare.
You could find yourself visiting Monet’s former home and gardens in Giverny, riding through the vineyards of Pauillac on a ‘Go Active’ bicycle tour or even tasting your way around Lyon on a gourmet food discovery, as you enjoy the delightful facilities offered by River Baroness, River Royale and SS Catherine in between your shore landings.
We have a range of different departures available between March and October 2016. Prices start from £8,878pp and, like all Uniworld river cruises, include gratuities, selected excursions, airport transfers, ship-wide Wi-Fi and all meals and beverages on board.
Encapsulating The French Joy of Living
In other news relating to both France and Uniworld, the cruise line has announced that they are building a brand new ship to sail the Seine from 2017. The 128-capacity Joie de Vivre will be one of the operator’s Super Ships and will, therefore, feature the state-of-the-art indoor pool which transforms into a cinema by night. There will also be an arts lounge showcasing antique pieces from auction houses and private collections and two elegant dining venues. The ship is being purpose-built to sail right into the heart of France’s capital, something which is achieved by it being just 410 feet in length and not the standard 443 feet.
